During the migration you may choose to eat a packed lunch in the vehicle, so that we can react instantly to river crossings: otherwise, lunch is served under the shade of an Acacia tree, as you take a break from scanning the horizons.
A highlight is always the moment we head for the water. What are the best places to see the migration?

The wildebeest migration happens all year round. The migration can be found during any given month, you just need to know where to look.

The Serengeti Wildebeest Migration cycle
1.November – December
The short rains  begin around early November, shortly after this animal arise on the short- grass plain of the Serengeti. These are south of the Seronera the Ndutu area.
2. January – March, Calving Season.
The animals stay in the same area, with most wildebeest, zebras and antelopes, calves born in Feb.
3.April -May
The animals start their great migration in search of fresh grazing and water.
4.June
The animals congregate on the south side of the Grumeti river, in the western corridor. The river here is normally a series of pools and channels, rather than a continuous river. The animals provide an annual feast for the Grumeti river large crocodiles, but these river crossings are not quite as spectacular as the crossing of the Mara River in the North.
5.July – August
The Migration continues moving northward, often spreading out across a wide area. Some head through Grueti Reserve and Ikorongo, other north through the heart of Serengeti National Park.
6.September
The herd spread out across the northern Serengeti, where the Mara River provides the migration with its most serious obstacle. This river gushes through the northern Serengeti From Kenya’s adjacent Maasai Mara Game Reserve. The crossing is a must see…
7.October.
The herd are migrating again, all are heading south, through western Loliondo and the Eastern Serengeti National Park areas, returning to the green shoots which follow the rain on the short-grass plain of the southern Serengeti.
