Olsero Expedition Trekking and Safaris has been leading innovative tours into Tanzania’s best national parks and wildlife reserves since 2013.

Over the years, we’ve grown from a small team of committed travel experts to one of the best safari outfitters in the country—but we’ve never lost sight of where we started.

Our safari team is powered by a fleet of 4×4 Land Cruiser vehicles, fully equipped with refrigerators, charging stations, and on-board Wi-Fi. When you travel with Olsero Expedition, you’ll have total access to the remote roads and rugged trails of remarkable wilderness destinations like the Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Mount Kilimanjaro. But your travel itinerary will be limited only by your own imagination.

Born and raised right here in Arusha, I’ve drawn upon nearly 20 years of experience as a guide in the safari industry to lead Olsero Expedition to its current renown.

  Safari at 🔝
We were in Tanzania in August 2023 for our honeymoon and we relied on Faraja Mellari's Olsero Expedition and the choice turned out to be the right one, clean and impeccable car, never a problem and always on time, our guide and pilot Hilary always professional, safe when driving even on the most treacherous routes. Thanks to them we were able to enjoy one of the most beautiful holidays that a nature lover could wish for, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro parks are simply wonderful, but with the right guide even better. Tanzania vacation will remain one of my amazing experience in life. And Faraja, Baraka and Pius had made this experience to be even better. Good English, lots of stories, their efforts to show us the Big Five, their efforts to make us feel good and welcome, all of this made my vacation to be memorable. I left Tanzania with a lot of memories and with some good friends. Baraka in swahili means Blessings and I confirm it was a blessing to have him as our Safari guide for 5 days.   Einmaliges Safari- und Trekkingerlebnis
Wir hatten ein einmaligs Safarik- und Trekkingerlebnis mit Faraja bzw. unserem Safariguide Joseph. Insgesamt waren wir 1 Tag im Tarangire Nationalpark, 1 + 2 halbe Tage in der Serengeti und 1 halben Tag im Ngorongoro (man kann hier inzwischen nur noch halbe Tage verbringen - Anweisung der Parkaufsicht). Alles war sehr gut organisiert, von der Abholung am Flughafen, über die Buchung der Unterkünfte, bis hin zu unsere Wanderung auf den Mt. Meru, bei der uns Faraja sogar begleitet hat. Die Fahrer waren immer pünktlich, auf Absprachen und Vereinbarungen konnten wir uns stets verlassen. Einzig was wir uns gewünscht hätten wäre gewesen, dass wir unsere Wanderung auf den Mt. Meru (sehr zu empfehlen, da es eine Walking Safari ersetzt und eine atemberaubende Aussicht auf den Kilimanjaro bietet!) schon früher am Tag begonnen hätten. Den Tipp hat Faraja sehr wohlwollend aufgenommen. Faraja ist generell sehr bestrebt seinen Gästen ein tolles Erlebnis zu bescheren und ist wirklich sehr sehr bemüht! Er ist ein toller Guide und wir können eine Buchung bei ihm uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

  A wonderful experience with amazing guide / driver
A couple with a teenage daughter, we went on a 3 night 4 day safari with Faraja and John. It was brilliantly organised with very well chosen accomodation and excellent guidance. The first day was in Tarangire, famous for its many elephants but also an abundance of other animals, a fantastic first stop on a 3 day safari. The second day they took us around the Ngorongo crater to get to the Serengeti. The drive through was amazing, a very different environment to Tarangire and very 'Gorillas in the mist' as you drive through early in the morning- beautiful! The baboons were adorable too. The environments and landscapes you see on the way to the Serengeti are wonderful and so varied with the Masaai living along your journey in harmony with nature. We reached the Serengeti and were fascinated by the endless plains and many more species of animals we saw. After the afternoon on safari we had a lovely evening and watched the sunset by a campfire. Upon Faraja's recommendation we were up very early the next day and the morning in the Serengeti was mind blowing , the animals were so playful and happy running around- such a joy to see at daybreak. We finished in the Ngorongo crater which must be a piece of heaven for animals, in the crater there is such tranquility and beguiling flora and fauna too. This was a very leisurely and perfectly organised end to our Safari experience. The knowledge Faraja shared with us was phenomenal and it was just a pleasure to be guided someone who cares so much about nature, the animals, their future on this earth and in particular in the breathtaking country of Tanzania. Faraja is so keen to share his vast knowledge and I hope his dream of educating young people to do the same comes true Faraja. It was very humbling and really makes you think about how we live and take nature for granted. Thank you !

  Excellent Safari
Me and my parents we went on safari with Faraja and had a great time. One day before we planned to start our Safari we had an accident and thought we have to cancel, but the way Faraja was caring for us is outstanding!   Amazing Safari with an amazing company
We had a brilliant time with Faraja and the team on our safari which began in Arusha! They were able to show us the most amazing animals and they really cared about them too. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to go on a safari while in Tanzania!!!
